Cool New Skin Treatments!

We at Dr. Sellers' office are excited about our new skin treatment modality. It is the Hydrafacial by Edge Systems. This new treatment takes place of the old microdermabrasion technology. The root word for the HydraFacial is hydrate: "to cause to take up moisture". This ability to moisturize the skin separates the Hydrafacial from all other skin resurfacing procedures. The Hydrafacial removes dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously bathing the new skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing skin solutions. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and immediately effective. Healthy skin is radiant skin. Hydrafacial is designed for all skin types. Treatments can be adapted to each individual's needs. Call and talk to one of our aesteticians about scheduling an appointment today. You'll love it!

Back to School!

Well, summer's over. Seems like just a minute ago we were watching fireworks for the 4th of July. I suppose that it's a good thing to get back to a bit more scheduled existence. You've spent all summer on running kids to swimming lessons, picnics, reunions, Disneyland, the lake, arts and crafts class, baseball practice and who knows what else. What about pausing and taking a little time for yourself? If you have something done right now, you will feel and look great for the holidays. Wouldn't it be terrific to have that tummy tuck or liposuction and greet that office Christmas party in a slinky little black dress instead of hanging back in the shadows in that old sweater set with the huge poinsettas and that long skirt? Dr. Sellers' does a fabulous mommy makeover. Call us!

New massage therapist

There is nothing better than a long, deep massage. Whether it's just to treat yourself to some much needed tension relief or whether it is to help with a physical condition, massages are wonderful. We want you to know that we have a new massage therapist in our office. Her name is Janine Bleiweiss and she is a much welcome addition to our practice. She has many years of massage experience. Have you heard of lymphatic drainage massage? Well, if not, it's a technique that is utilized to help get built up fluids out of your tissues. It is very gentle and soft, but very, very effective. Janine is very skilled at this particular type of massage. We recommend that all of our post liposuction patients have a few sessions of lymphatic drainage massage to get extra fluids out of the tissues and get the best final result possible from their surgery. Janine is now taking appointments. Her usual days will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but she is quite versitile and will work to suit your schedule when she can. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a relaxing hour with Janine call our office at 801-295-6554. Talk to you soon!

Death Ride

Dr. Sellers has been in practice for about 25 years now. He still is very busy practicing medicine, but he does have some interesting hobbies that he persues in his limited time off. This last weekend he rode in the annual Death Ride . (Doesn't that sound like an invigorating option for your leisure time?) Anyway, the Death Ride is a 130 mile bike ride (yes, the kind that you peddle yourself) that is out of Lake Tahoe, California. What it amounts to, as far as I can tell, is riding up and down three mountains in the area (15,000 feet). The temperature of course can only be described as hot. It is completed in one day--unless of course you "expire". Hense the name "Death Ride". Dr. Sellers was able to complete the ride and returned to work Monday morning none the worse for wear--at least no visible wear. He will ride in several more bike races this summer, including Lotaja in September. He often goes for "little rides" of 50-60 miles just to keep in shape. It's pretty amazing. So when you're out and about, wave at all the bikers you pass--one of them may be Dr. Sellers.

The Eyes have it!

Nothing makes you look more tired and sad than eyelids that have started to droop. Blepharoplasty is the big medical word for eyelid surgery. It is a relatively quick procedure that can make you look awake, alert, rested and younger. And in our society, younger is good. Bags under the lower eyelids are also very aging. Sometimes upper eyelids can even be done under local anesthetic in our surgical suite in the office. Come in and talk with Dr. Sellers and his staff about your situation and see if freshening up your eyes might be just the procedure for you.

More comfortable exercise (if there is such a thing)

Tired of having to strap on at least two industrial strength sports bras to go out for a jog? Tired of dents in your shoulders and the constant rash under your breasts? Breast reduction surgery is a wonderful solution to these and other problems and may be right for you. Breast reduction surgery can reduce the size of the breasts and also reposition them back up on your chest wall where your muscles were designed to carry them. Insurance companies are getting much more amenable to paying for reduction surgery. Come in and see Dr. Sellers and have him tell you about the surgery and see if it might be right for you. Come on in and talk to us and get the weight off your chest!

Muffin tops

Have you had the experience of putting on your favorite capris from last summer and finding that not only are they a bit snugger in the waist, but you seem to have developed that pesky "muffin top" thing over your belt? And as you have studied Mom and Aunt Mary, you have realized that these bulges seem to have a hereditary element? Have you lost weight before, only to find that even at your new, happy weight, your natural shape is still the same? Did you know that your natural, genetic shape can be changed through liposuction or body contouring? If you'd like to look less "pear-ish" or less "apple-ish" liposuction may be the procedure for you. Imagine waking up to find that those saddle bags that you have lived with so long are gone. Wow-cool! Remember, that once fat cells are removed from the body, you cannot put more fat in to them. They're gone . (and good riddance) Liposuction is a procedure where fat is suctioned out of various areas of the body to give you a more pleasing, desireable shape. Yes, Virginia, there is going to be some down time for recovery, but it will sure be worth it. Come in to see Dr. Sellers and let him answer your questions and give you an idea of what could be done to help you reach your goal. It's still not too late to do it and still look fabulous in a swimming suit. (Let's face it, you'll look better in your levis, too) Hope to see you soon!

Summer's here!

It seems like it's been a long time coming this year, but the weather man says that summer's finally here. (we seemed to have skipped spring this year) It's not too late to get in shape for swim suit weather. Spring and summer are prime seasons for breast rejuvination--either breast augmentation, breast lifts (with or without adding an implant) or even breast reduction surgery. Any of these procedures can give you a new lease on life and a new spring in your step.

Breast augmentation can give you back that fullness that you once enjoyed (or maybe never had) This procedure can be done with either saline or silicone implants. Different situations may be better done with one or the other. Breast augmentation can make your waist appear smaller and can balance out your hips giving you a more beautiful, more balanced look--and not just in a swimming suit. All of your clothes will fit and look better. It usually only takes a week or so after surgery to be feeling more like you self and by three weeks you're usually back to a fairy normal routine.

So, if you're tired of padded bras and all their inconveniences, come and see us at Dr. Dan Sellers' office and see if breast augmentation would be the right thing for you. Perhaps, your breasts would benefit from a little lifting as well. It can be done. You'll love it.
